Dear Westhope Families,
I want to inform you about a current situation regarding our math instruction. Following the recent resignation of our math teacher, we have been actively working to find a qualified replacement. Unfortunately, due to the ongoing shortage of certified math instructors—especially in our rural area—this process has proven to be especially challenging.
In the meantime, we have placed a consistent and reliable substitute teacher in the classroom to provide supervision and structure. To ensure continued learning, we are utilizing Khan Academy, a trusted online resource that offers standards-aligned instruction and practice in mathematics. Our staff is closely monitoring student progress and providing additional support where needed.
We understand this is not the ideal setup, but please know we are doing everything we can to maintain learning momentum and secure a qualified math teacher as soon as possible. We appreciate your understanding and continued support during this time.

Good Morning Westhope
Due to the extreme cold during the overnight hours (Possibly -55 windchills at 6 am), and concerns that it could impact transportation safety of our students and staff, Westhope Public School will run buses and classes two hours late to allow temps to increase and travel in daylight tomorrow, February 18, 2025. As standard procedure on a late start day there will be no morning breakfast served or morning activities.

The make-up date for the January 17th snow day has been set for Monday, April 21st. We would like to thank you all for your patience as we carefully reviewed our options and could establish a make-up day that was best to support student outcomes, least intrusive for future school events and for family schedules.

Picture retakes will take place with KC Photography on Tuesday, December 17th. If your child missed or you want retakes, Tuesday morning is their opportunity.

Dear Senior Parents
December 18th third hour Seniors will meet to start their STUDENT portion of the FASFA application. Please ensure your student comes prepared with their phone, computer, and knowing their SSN!
Monday January 6th from 6-8pm in the Commons will be a FASFA parent/family night! Come fill out the PARENT portion and finalize any needed student portions on this evening. Westhope will provide a free supper for this event for all parents and students as many of you will be coming of work and practice. Parents/Families please bring yourself, the student, and any vital tax information you may need for the 2023 year. If your student filed in 2023, they need their information as well.

The dates are December 5th-12th
Shopping hours are before school from 8:00 - 8:20 am and after school from 3:15-3:40 pm.
